Rod Dreher describes why I tend to shrug off idiocy like the "chocolate Jesus."
If you are not a Christian, you should understand the basics of the message. These two videos are short, enjoyable, and helpful. Please watch them.

This is the first I’ve heard of the “chocolate Jesus.” A few thoughts:
– Since it was for Easter, it seems to be a take off on the “chocolate bunny” phenomena. How did rabbits, rabbit eggs, and chocolate bunnies replace Jesus as the focus of Easter? The confluence of these items seems to be the point of the “chocolate Jesus” and not an attempt at blasphemy.
– Christians have always “eaten” Christ, and at His own instruction. It’s called the Lord’s Supper, Eucharist, or Mass. So He’s chocolate flavored? So what?
– Xians have no sense of humor.
I think a choc jesus is fine. I wouldn’t even call it idiocy. I mean, does it really matter? You are right, most ideologues, including most xians, have an impaired sense of humor.
