Actor Chuck Norris weighs in on last week’s court ruling in California with his own thoughts on homeschooling. An excerpt:
The reason government courts are cracking down on private instruction has more to do with suppressing alternative education than improving educational standards. The rationale is quite simple, though rarely, if ever, stated. If one wants to control the future ebbs and flows of a country, one must have command over future generations. This is done by seizing parental and educational power, legislating preferred educational materials, and limiting private educational options. It is so simple any socialist can understand it. As Josef Stalin once stated: “Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.”

Rock on Chuck. The Prozac/Rydilin gen is of voting age now, and their offspring right around the corner. Couple that with the mass idiocy on TV and especially the web that passes for news and fact, well, you start to get the picture, although a hazy over medicated one. Obamazombies anyone?
Ben, stop with the stupid Benjudgements and namecalling. It's just not funny or even intellectually interesting. After a while, it just feels childish and annoying. Once might be interesting, but after that, it's just "i know you are, but what am i?"
But I believe the attacks on homeschooling are, of course, not based on facts, but on liberal fears of fundamentalism, and of the collapse of the state system that they worship as savior of humanity. Of course, they like to tell themselves, and assume that the real reason they oppose homeschooling is that homeschooled kids are somehow being indoctrinated into hate, or getting an inferior education.
Of course, statistics show overwhelimingly that homeschooled kids are smarter, happier, and better socially adjusted than public school kids. But libs are so driven by their hatred and fear of Christianity (though both hippies AND Christians homeschool), and their faith in the industrial mass-production education system (part of their faith in socialist schemes and their lack of faith in freedom with virtue), they keep pushing to kill homeschools.
Enemies of home schooling are enemies of freedom, American tradition, and quite honestly, are extremists. Private, charter, and home schools can all co-exist.
Rock on Chuck = not a judgement, he’s cool, xcept for his backing of Gomer Pyle.
Prozac/Rydilin gen = not a judgement, a fact … especially the Rydilin factor, although the first children made zombies are now about 35 years of age, and so have crumb crunchers and teens possibly under the same psychochemical attack as mom and dad.
Mass TV idiocy = not a judgement. Dancing with the stars? Smarter than a fifth grader? CNN? I rest my case.
OK, just because thousands upon thousands of people, with no real knowledge of where their savior will lead them, pied piper like, follows, many of whom pass out at the sound of his voice … that doesn’t make em zombie like. I stand corrected. umm hmm.
Well, Chuck is definitely right about one thing:
Our governments are attempting to seize parental and educational power.
Ben, I was referring to your repetition of Obamazombies.
I wasn’t sure, so I itemized, seeker. I do not mean it as a put down, but as an observation of those who swoon over emptiness, and from the attitudes of people, mostly younger, pre-30’s, who i am in contact with during my day. I ask them why BO. They hate Bush. Just seems so silly to me. Zombie like.
Lawanda, for sure. The whole far-left leaning process is to replace the father and or mother, to set the gov in a position in which they know what’s best. smoking bans as an example.
