Sometimes when you try to please everyone, you please no one. That is exactly the problem with Senate Republicans.
The created a bill that would combine an increase in the minimum wage with a reduction in the estate tax. The bill was stalled by the Democrats through procedural tactics.
Clearly, this bill is not going to make anyone happy. Conservative and liberals have different views on how to help the economy and the American people. For either side this contains a poison pill.
This is not about whether you support an estate tax cut or a raise in the minimum wage. A senator should not be forced to vote on a bill that combines two polar opposite ideological policies.
