I honestly hope Christians aren’t this stupid. I know the meme is that Christians are running around in fear over tomorrow’s date and the numerology inloved, but I haven’t seen it.
The two news stories mentioning women wanting avoid the 6/6/06 birthdate for their expected baby make no mention of the Christianity of the mothers. One has had several miscarriages and seems to be superstitious about the date. The other is fan of The Omen and worried that her baby might have “evil in him or her.”
Most people are simply using the date as a shot at free publicity. Hell, MI is having a party. The remake of The Omen is being released. Ann Coulter’s new book, “Godless: The Church of Liberalism” is due out. Heavy metal group Slayer starts its Unholy Alliance tour, “Preaching to the Perverted.”
Meanwhile for me, an ordinary Christian, I will get up, go to work, come home, kiss my wife, play with my kids, read my Bible and talk to God just like any other day. Or due to the power of the numerology, I may convert to Satanism, quit my job, sacrifice a goat and run naked through the streets. I haven’t really decided yet, but I’m leaning toward the former.
