Steve Jobs and the flying helmet, and why we don’t pray

I had the strangest dream this morning. I was walking down a wide stone sidewalk (about 20 feet wide), like that in a park, lined with trees, that led up to a large building.  When the wind blew, I rode it up into the air, as high as 20 feet, and for distances of up to about 40 feet.  I’d put out my arms and turn, almost like a dancer, enjoying the lift, and landing at the same gentle pace that I took off at. A woman behind me marveled, and I told her it was easy, she just had to relax and spread her arms out.

Book Meme

OK, I am learning to hate these, but of course, I love them.  “Memes” are a techy geeky word coined by arch-Darwinist and atheist Richard Dawkins, who created the word to represent “replicator of cultural information that one mind transmits (verbally or by demonstration) to another mind.”  In common english, now we use them to talk about ourselves.  So here’s the book meme.

Personal DNA

Blog Rodent did his pesonal DNA test, and I took it too.  I disagree with the conclusion that I like to socialize rather than stay home, but what is also interesting are my high masculine and low feminine ratings.  Now I can relax that I’m not gay ;).  Here’s my results.

McKinney is enjoying the attention

Like Cindy Sheehan before her, Cynthia “Slappy the Squirrel” McKinney is enjoying the spotlight so much that she refuses to leave.

She continues to take up time for herself which the Democrats could be using to push their latest plan or attack Bush. McKinney would rather make all the rounds appearing on any show that will take her so she can non-apologize again, while blaming Bush for 9/11.

Just like with Sheehan (in the last few months) few Democrats want to support McKinney, but none will really take her to task or tell her to stop. They are paralyzed by their own PC mess.

But the real reason I posted this was because I wanted a chance to post a picture of Slappy the Squirrel and remember the good ol’ days of Animaniacs. I loved that show.

Where are You Politically?

Poly1 Previously, I took a bunch of political quizzes, and presented the results, which seemed to indicate that I was a bit centrist.  I retook one of them, and it looks pretty much the same (see image below).  What is really interesting about the OKCupid political test is the nice set of backgrounds you can put your results against.  Check these out, and go take your own test!
