yeah
the real victims
I like the "normal people" one best.
Yep, Louis, that's what they were parodying.
So they were parodying a parody? A bit silly.
As to Lawanda's comment: what a surprise.
Well, you gotta admit, the political activism of celebrities is kind of ripe for comedy – I mean, perhaps sports figures should start riffing about global warming, since they are expert at that as celebs are at health care reform, or any other subject besides, um, acting.
They have as much right to spout their views (uninformed or otherwise) as you or I. They just have a wider platform.
Yes, no surprise I like real people who I can relate to, better than snobs who I can't relate to at all. :)
So, what was the original parody parodying??
Yes, it's easy to dismiss those you envy or disagree with as snobs. Rather an interesting form of snobbery in itself.
An example of the type of ad it was parodying.
Or its easy to dismiss snobs as snobs. If those celebrities walked in cheap shoes on principle, even, I might be able to relate to them. But they don't. As a matter of fact their entire life is about getting attention and making money. My life is totally NOT.
So of course I don't relate to them trying to tell me I should allow the government to control my life, spend my money for me, use it in ways I do not approve.
I like the first one best still. I guess I see big government as the huge problem. I actually thought that last one was cheesy.
