Is it time to ‘ACORN’ Planned Parenthood and get them defunded?
Conservatives have been trying to defund the abortion mills of Planned Parenthood for years (see Defund Planned Parenthood).
However, the success of the investigative reporting that got ACORN defunded may now be seen as an effective method of undercutting the feticide that our tax dollars pay for (at least here in the US). Gary Bauer, President of the conservative public policy group American Values has already suggested this.
Here's some investigative calling done at Planned Promiscuity. Is this enough to defund them? Probably not. But we can hope that more of the corruption that exists in Planned Parenthood, esp. covering up statutory rape, will soon come out. More vids after the jump.
The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran
Add one more book to my Amazon wishlist – The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran. From the description:
The Complete Infidels Guide to the Koran reveals:
- The true meaning of celebrated and seemingly benign verses, such as ‘Strive in the way of Allah’ and ‘Persecution is worse than slaughter’
- How the Koran sanctions domestic abuse, honor killing, and murder
- How the Koran not only discourages Infidels from reading it, but mandates that they don’t even touch it
- Why President Obama is dangerously close to supporting a multiculturalism based on an ideology that aims to destroy the principles America holds dear
Stripping out the obsolete debates, Spencer focuses on the Koran’s decrees toward Jews, Christians, and other Infidels, explaining how they were viewed in Muhammad’s time, what they’ve supposedly done wrong, and most important, what the Koran has in store for them.
Robert Spencer is one of the foremost experts and critics of Islam, and his site Jihad Watch is one of the best sites of its kind today. I have no doubt this book will be very good.
Darwin’s Darkest Hour premiers on Nova Oct. 6
Even if the Charles Darwin bio-pic Creation, now in UK theaters, can't find a distributor, PBS will be airing it's own ode to Darwin on Oct 6, entitled Darwin's Darkest Hour. This film looks interesting b/c it explores how his theory affected his faith and that of his believing wife. Interestingly, this actor playing Darwin recently also played Jesus in The Gospel of John (2003). Funny that he got to play the leaders of two powerful, opposing religions world views!
I really love these pics because they really bring up the whole issue of evolution, which ought to be examined in the light of true skepticism.
I think evolutionary theory is not only erroneous, but is probably one of the most mistaken and deleterious theories ever to grace the world (up there with Islam), having influenced Hitler and American eugenics, and having adulterated good science, not to mention needlessly undermining people's confidence in the Bible.
I just hope people will also get to see the films that are less hagiographical, and more critical of Darwin and Darwinism, such as:
Enjoy this trailer for Darwin's Darkest Hour (after the jump)
George Washington and Religion
The awesome podcast from Probe Ministries has an interesting 13 minute podcast this week on George Washington and Religion. Enjoy.
British film ‘Creation’ can’t find a U.S. distributor?
Atheist, Darwinist, and Christian websites are abuzz about the British bio pic of Charles Darwin, because it seems that the British producer is having trouble finding an American distributor to pick it up.
What amuses me is the amazement of Darwinists who can’t wrap their minds around the fact that only 39% of Americans believe in evolution as an explanation of origins. While they chock it up to religious American fervor and their superior intellect, they overlook the fact that there may be good reasons to BE skeptical of evolution – but they can not be truly skeptical because it is part of their metaphysical world view, which even they are too scared to seriously examine. I mean, if evolution is NOT true, they are left with either God or some other undiscovered process. We couldn’t have that.
I think this movie looks interesting. I would go see it. Here are some downloadable clips from the movie.

Seeking God in Science: An Atheist Defends Intelligent Design
In my two part Atheist philosopher supports Intelligent Design as scientific, I introduced people to Dr. Bradley Monton, a well spoken atheist who supports ID, not because he believes it, but because he thinks that it is a legitimate scientific approach to explaining complexity. In those posts, you can listen to a really interesting interview with Monton, plus get info on 'The great debate' he was involved in.
Monton has finally released his book Seeking God in Science: An Atheist Defends Intelligent Design.

Confirming all the stereotypes
Many conservatives ridiculed some Obama supporters for their seemingly religious devotion to a politician. Some conservatives also expressed concern (at least) over the President's speech to school children. The Left has defended themselves against such attacks by maintaining that no one really worshiped Obama and several other presidents gave similar speeches to school children.
While it could not be argued that everyone on the left fits those stereotypes, it has to be acknowledged that they are stereotypes for a reason. The reason? This and this.
The Audacity of Unwareness
I agree with this post from iowntheworld.com
Barack Obama, through his spokesman, claimed that he was unaware of the tax day tea parties. But how out of touch is the Community Organizer in Chief, really?
This much.
- He was unaware that he was attending a church (for 20 years) with a racist pastor who hates America.
- He was unaware that he was family friends with and started his political career in the living room of a domestic terrorist.
- He was unaware that he had invested in two speculative companies backed by some of his top donors right after taking office in 2005.
- He was unaware that his own aunt was living in the U.S. illegally.
- He was unaware that his own brother lives on pennies a day in a hut in Kenya.
- He was unaware of the AIG bonuses that he and his administration approved and signed into a bill.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of Commerce was under investigation in a bribery scandal.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of Health and Human Services was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be his Secretary of the Treasury was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be the U.S. Trade Representative was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the woman he nominated to be his Chief Performance Officer was a tax cheat.
- He was unaware that the man he nominated to be #2 at the Environmental Protection Agency was under investigation for mismanaging $25 million in EPA grants.

WSJ Says “stimulus did not work”
In the words of Iago the parrot from Aladdin, "there's a surprise! I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from NOT surprise." (.wav)
In the WSJ's article The Stimulus Didn't Work, the subtitle actually says it all:
The data show government transfers and rebates have not increased consumption at all.
Consider first the part of the chart pertaining to the spring of this
year and observe that disposable personal income (DPI)–the total
amount of income people have left to spend after they pay taxes and
receive transfers from the government–jumped. The increase is due to
the transfer and rebate payments in the 2009 stimulus package. However,
as the chart also shows, there was no noticeable impact on personal
consumption expenditures. Because the boost to income is temporary, at
best only a very small fraction was consumed.
I think it's time to get one of these:
Seriously, though, the only thing that worked about the stimulus was getting taxpayer money into the hands of liberal cronies. I am serious about the legacies of GWB and Obama being the opposite of what many think – GWB's will be good, Obama's will be a setback for both liberals and African Americans. Long live Clarence Thomas!
The Self Portrait
Ok, this is not really fair, since it's his FANS that think he's our savior. However, this gets points for cleverness. Courtesty of iowntheworld.com.
What is truth? John 18:28-38
In this sermon, I examined Pilate’s exasperated exclamation, “What is truth?” I discussed three serious objections to the existence of God from this passage, including:
- Religious hypocrisy
- Injustice and suffering
- Personal limitations and failure
I apologize for the background noise, and the places where I had to dub in missing words – the original audio file had some dropouts.

Mohler: ‘Theistic evolutionists are essentially Theistic non-realists’
In the Book of Revelation, Jesus speaks to a church that is lukewarm in this manner:
Revelation 3:16
So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
In my mind, those included in this bunch will be liberal theologians, who mistakenly suppose that somehow the Bible's historical narratives are not true, but merely metaphorical, and who believe that evolution is somehow compatible with Biblical Christianity (see related articles below).
On this second point, Richard Dawkins is on point – I am glad that he sees through the illogical position that you can somehow hold that both God is the creator and evolution is true.
Values Voter Summit starts today
The 2009 Values Voter Summit is an annual gathering of pro-family conservative luminaries vision-casting for the coming year for the religious right and pro-family conesrvatives. Interestingly, any candidate who wants to run for office with the blessing of religious conservatives will probably try to be on the docket.

The 9/12 pictures the liberal media did not show you
My uncle sends me lots of great conservative spam, and some of it deserves to be seen. These pictures tell a story other than what the liberal media want to portray. As you'll see below, more realistic crowd estimates place participation between 450K and 1.2M people.
Notice the actual black Americans – I wonder why the rampant 'racism' driving these conservatives doesn't seem to offend them. Hmmm. Maybe because that's just liberal projection from their own confused minds. That's my guess. Read the captions, they tell the story behind each pic. Wonderful truth. My notes in blue.
Protesters came from every state in the union. This man came from San Antonio, TX. He said that he was really sorry he hadn’t brought his family. He stated that being a black conservative he was afraid to expose his children to what he expected would be a lot of liberal abuse. He was thrilled with the tenor of the event and the fact that no liberals were present to harass him. He spoke about how incredibly intolerant the left is to black individuals who don’t bow to the party line.
If not racism, what ARE the motives of the anti-Obama masses?
In The boy who cried 'racism!', I broached the subject that I think that those who are complaining that the modern anti-Obama rallies and other conservative actions in the news are racist in nature are making bogus claims. But if not racism, what ARE the motives of these modern conservative protesters? Here's my quick list of what I think are the genuine motives involved.
