Any piece that speaks of people under certain labels is going to generalize them to an extent. No one is going to perfectly fit a general label.
Which leads me to the "Christian Hipster" question. For starters I would never apply that label to myself, but after looking at that funny listing, I would probably be fairly close to it. I agree with some of those things, while I disagree with others.
So many labels with so many connotations.

Is that piece generalizing? Sure. There are many out there who are atheists or theists of varying sorts who simply want do good for themselves and those around them.<br

Could it be that many, if not most, atheists are not so gullible or foolish as you describe? Sometimes I think that Christians (and other believers) and atheists need each other to keep their interest up and to have someone to blame when things go wrong. What would you do if you encountered someone who was just indifferent to the whole shebang? Who didn't give a cockroach's fart whether there was a God or not, but who merely acted as justly and mercifully and compassionately as he could? What a revelation!

I don’t know. I think you’re generalizing too much.
