Those morons know that it's You+Are=You're…right? I mean, obviously they don't, but I sort of thought that was one our more well known grammatical rules.

thanks once again for confirming that Christianity hates gay people. every time I start to think that there might be something in it, I come across yet another vicious diatribe aimed at gay people. I agree with Elton John: ban it for the sake of civilization.

I thought about taking them to task for that, but you can't put an apostrophe in a URL – maybe they should have gone for youre, but adding the vowel makes the spelling weird – youregoingtohell – I dunno.

There is no excuse for bad grammar. Ever.

Can I share with you guys a kick butt movie trailer I saw for 300. The story of the Battle of Thermopylae. I have always found the Spartans fascinating. Without their sacrifice at Thermopylae, democracy and Western Civilization would not exist today: neither would Christianity.

    March, 2007?! Oh, no!
The visuals look fantastic, but I wonder about its historical accuracy. I'm also not too sure that modern democracy wouldn't exist- there's a debate around that point.

This is my worry as well. For example, in the trailer I noticed that only Leonidas had the Spartan Crest on his helm. They got the red cloaks right though. Regardless, it looks very entertaining. The Spartans were insanely good soldiers. I would venture the best ever. 300 Spartans + 5000 allies vs. 250,000 – 1,000,000 Persians is a story that deserves telling.

Great battles of history all have metaphoric value, and some historic value, in that it may have affected outcomes for good or bad that lead us to today – I mean, what if Hitler had not been defeated, or if Mohammed had?

I'm confused. What do you mean Seeker?

  10. Nov 16 2006

The visuals make it look like a mix of The Matrix and Troy! Awesome (but prolly not very accurate! hehe) :)
Re: yourgoingtohell.com…They could have put dashes in it or something…Bad grammar bugs me a lot, even though I am a lousy typist and make plenty of my own mistakes.
And the "You are going to hell" link isn't working.

That's very good news for me and my fellow secular humanists :)
I think I figured out what Seeker is trying to say. Don't worry, it's only 1 minute 44 seconds long.

    I'm saying:
    1. battle movies have inspirational and instructive value
    2. some battles have historic value, esp. with relation to our time – for example, the defeat of Hitler, and the failure to quelch the prophet of peace (jbuh).

I will never understand how you can blame Muhammed for the actions of Muslims, but you can't blame Christ for the actions of Christians. There's no difference.
