An Italian judge has ordered Father Enrico Righi to appear in court this month to show the evidence supporting the existence of Jesus, after the priest challenged claims made in a book. Luigi Cascioli authored The Fable of Christ, a book denying the existence of Jesus. Righi, a priest near Rome, wrote an article in the diocesan newspaper criticizing the claim. Cascioli began legal proceedings against Father Righi, demanding the priest provide “irrefutable proof of Christís existence.”

Personal note: Sorry for the extended absence. Besides my time away from work (ie internet) because of our Christmas break, I have been sick the past week. Today is my first day back and I am still a little slow and groggy. It was nice to see how well danielg and Daddypundit kept the place going during my longer-than-normal break. Thanks guys!
