Over at my personal site, I have posted about my friend Kelly McCorkle (of Amazing Race 7 fame) and a fundraiser she has helped to organize this weekend.

This is something we can all (liberal, conservative, Christian, non-Christian) agree on – helping children who have been abused.

Kelly’s best friend Leslie Mazzara, who was an outspoken advocate for abused children, was murdered. Her family and friends decided to turn their tragedy into some type of hope for others, so they established the Leslie Mazzara Memorial Fund to help a local abused children’s home build another home in memory of Leslie.

This weekend, Kelly will be working with the Raising Race, which is a smaller version of the Amazing Race. At the conclusion of the race, the public is invited to a finale celebration, where they can meet several stars of the Amazing Race 7, including winners Uchenna and Joyce as well as celebrity couple Rob and Amber.

If you would like to help make a contribution to help give hope to even more abused children, you can go here and print out a form to mail back with a donation or you can hit the pay pal button.
